Ice Adventures in Asia: How Skate Helper Aids Skaters in Japan and Korea
I had the opportunity to travel to Japan and South Korea during the holidays in 2023. It was an amazing trip, and I visited a few ice arenas. The “Coach” Mid Town Tokyo outdoor rink was located in the middle of a park and was busy with families. They could really use some Skate Helpers, as many new skaters were clinging to the side of the rink, struggling to find their balance.Winter sports are incredibly popular in Japan, including ice skating, and there are rinks throughout the country. In winter, you can even skate on natural ice at Ice Land Akan in Kushiro, Hokkaido, which is set in a national park.
During my time in Japan, I visited the Jingu Ice Rink, Yokohama, The Coach Rink in Tokyo Midtown, and the Tokyo Sky Tree skating rink.
I also stopped in Seoul, Korea, on a 24-hour layover. It snowed on the day I was there, and while walking around downtown, I spotted an outdoor rink that was closed due to the snow. I managed to speak with the manager about Skate Helper, using Google Translate to communicate.
Ice skating, especially during the holidays, is enjoyed worldwide, and I highly recommend visiting Japan and South Korea. We took our two teenagers, and it was one of the best travel experiences we’ve ever had.
Skate Helper has been in business for over 18 years, and I am proud to say we have shipped our products to countries such as Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, Taiwan, London, France, and Dubai.
